Marcelle Genovese

Marcelle Genovese is one of Malta’s most accomplished hair specialist, with a career spanning more than two decades in the international film and television industry. Renowned for her expertise in both contemporary and period hairstyling, she has contributed to some of the world’s most prestigious productions filmed in Malta and abroad, earning a reputation for creativity, technical excellence, and meticulous attention to detail.

Throughout her career, Genovese has worked alongside leading directors, actors, and production teams on major Hollywood blockbusters and acclaimed television projects. Her extensive credits include Gladiator, Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, Munich, Apocalypto, Thor: The Dark World, Assassin’s Creed, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Napoleon, Ferrari, Gladiator II (Winner of the Guilds Award in LA), and Jurassic World: Rebirth. In these productions, she has held a variety of senior roles, including Hair Stylist, Key Hair Stylist, Hair Supervisor, and Hair Department Head.

A specialist in period hairstyling, Genovese is particularly respected for her ability to recreate historically accurate looks while adapting to the demands of modern filmmaking. Her work on Snow White and the Huntsman formed part of a hair department that received the Berenice Award for Best Hairstyles, highlighting the high standard of artistry associated with her career.
