Masterclass: Andy Harries OBE. Lifetime Achievement - In Conversation with Adrian Wootton

Date
Saturday 27 June 2026
Time
11:30 – 12:30
Location
Ic-Civil, Valletta

Andy Harries OBE is the Executive Chairman of Left Bank Pictures and one of the most consequential television producers of the last four decades. His credits span every register of British screen storytelling: the warmth and intimacy of Cold Feet and The Royle Family; the procedural authority of Prime Suspect; the historical reach and cinematic scale of The Queen, Outlander, and The Crown – the series that redefined what long-form television could be and reached audiences in every territory on earth. This is a career that did not specialise. It expanded.

This session in conversation with Adrian Wootton OBE, CEO of Film London and the British Film Commission, a long-time colleague and friend of Andy’s, and one of the most articulate voices on British screen culture working today. Their conversation will move between the specific and the strategic: the stories behind the productions, the working relationships with writers and performers, the industrial decisions that shaped which stories got told and which didn’t, and the forward-looking question of where culturally specific storytelling goes next in a landscape that is simultaneously more global and more competitive than it has ever been.
