Masterclass: Inside the Craft – A conversation with Famke Janssen

Famke Janssen has spent thirty years building one of the most varied and consistently surprising careers in international cinema. She arrived as Xenia Onatopp in GoldenEye. She spent a decade playing Jean Grey/Phoenix across four X-Men films. She directed. She wrote. She took roles in independent film that had nothing to do with franchise logic. She kept moving, kept choosing the harder thing, kept turning up fully committed to whatever she was doing.
Inside the Craft is a direct conversation about that practice: what it actually takes to build and sustain a screen performance, how the relationship between an actor and a director works when both are serious about what they are doing, what the experience of moving between blockbuster and independent filmmaking teaches you about the difference between them, and what happens when an actor crosses the line and directs.
The session is in conversation format with John Ross – West Coast Director of Editorial Projects at Vanity Fair, former VP of Features and Events at Variety, and three-time Emmy Award-winning producer of Variety’s Actors on Actors.
