The second edition of the Mediterrane Film Festival Malta opened last night with over 400 attendees for the special “The Count of Monte Cristo” screening.
The film is among seven titles in the out-of-competition selection. The opening ceremony was held at St. George’s Square in Valletta, one of the venues that will showcase the selection of films for this year’s festival.
This year’s programme includes fifteen films in competition, seven out-of-competition and seven films competing in the environment-themed Mare Nostrum section.
This year, the festival introduced a new competition dedicated to immersive works, which includes fifteen projects from Europe and beyond.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will host panel masterclasses, workshops, and panel discussions with filmmakers and other experts in this area.
